Do not be anxious

In the book of Mathew, our Lord Jesus has told us not to be anxious about our lives, what we shall eat or what we shall drink, nor about our body, what we shall put on. He has said our life is more than food, and our bodies more than clothing. Then he invites us to look at the birds of the air, who neither sow nor reap, and yet our Heavenly Father feeds them. If he provides for the birds will he not provide for the very people he has created?

It does not say here that we should not work, or get busy in earning a living, or keep up with our responsibilities. The birds do work very hard all day long in building their homes and fetching their food. It says we should not be anxious. The root word for being anxious in the greek is "merizo"  and it means to apportion or bestow or disunite; to differ, distribute, divide. When we are anxious our thoughts are divided, our attention is disunited, our focus is distributed. That is why it makes even more sense when He recommends us not to be anxious about tomorrow.

God wants us to be whole and to face each situation with an undivided attention. This will enable us to concentrate in making good decisions, to be efficient in our work, and  it will let us enjoy life and be happy. God wants us to have peace of mind.

Today is a gift,
a list of things to do,
 people to listen to,
 prayers to lift,
Thank yous to give.

Tomorrow will bring
 its own trouble
for us to face;
tomorrow will bring
 its own blessings and strength.

Now this does not mean we should not plan ahead, or commit our ways to Him, on the contrary, God encourages us in many scripture verses to commit our ways to Him.

 "Commit your works to Jehova,
and your thoughts will be established"
Proverbs 16: 3.

"Acknowledge Him in all your ways,
and He will straighten your paths"
 Psalms 3:6

"Commit your ways to the LORD, trust Him,
and He will come through
(or He will do it, in Spanish "El harĂ¡").
Psalms 37:4

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything let your petitions come before God in all kinds of prayers and supplication, with thanksgiving. And the peace that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christs Jesus."
Phillipians 4: 6 and 7

Wearing his yoke

"In all you do, I want you to be free from worry"
1st Corinthians 7: 32

Dear Friend, we are upset about so many things and details. There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it  and it will not be taken away from her; as the sat at the feet of her LORD and Master listening to Him as He talked she found peace of mind.

Chrits's love controls us now. Since we believe that Christ died for us, we should also believe that we have died to the old life we used to live. He died for all so that all who live (having received eternal life from Him) might no longer live for themselves, but spend their lives pleasing Christ who died and rose again for them.
2nd Corinthians 5: 14, 15

When we obey Jesus we are living in his love, just as He obeyed the Father and lived in His love!
The suffering we experience is all part of the work God has given us. Christ who suffered for us is our example. We must follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2:21

For even He the Messiah did not come here to be served but to help others. Mark 10:45
We must try hard to live without sinning; and to be at peace with everyone so that He will be pleased when he returns. Come to Jesus and He will give you rest. Wear his yoke for it fits perfectly and let him teach us; for He is gentle and humble, and we will find rest for our souls.Mt.11: 28-30. Only in returning to Him and waiting for Him will we be saved; in quietness and in confidence will be our strength. Is. 30:15

I Will Never Leave Thee

"I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee"

 Hebrew 8:5

When God opens a well for one,
it is that all may drink.
No promise is of private interpretation.
Whatever God has said to one saint,
He has said to all.

In this promise, God gives
to his people everything:
"I will never leave thee,
nor forsake thee".
Then no attribute of God
can cease to be engaged for us.

Is He mighty?
He will show himself strong
on the behalf of them who trust Him.
Is He love?
Then with lovingkindness
will He have mercy upon us.

There is no night

The dawn gives way
to morning splendor.
Each new day
brings a promise,
a seeking of God's favor.
If you follow Jesus
you will not stumble in the dark
for living light will flood your path!

John 8:12

God is Light, and there is no darkness in Him at all.
1 John 1:5

Perfect Peace

"He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the LORD!" Isaiah 26:3

Give your burdens to the Lord.
He will carry them.
He will not permit you to slip or fall.

We must trust and not be afraid
for the Lord is our strength
and our song.

Don't worry about anything,
pray about everything;
tell God your needs and don't
forget to thank him for his answers.
If you do this you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human man can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you grow in trust.
