He shines in the night!

The room is quiet,
my daughter sleeps.
The IV and the drugs help;
the pain is keen.
As I go through this trial
his tender love comforts me,
giving me strength to endure,
his beloved voice so sweet!

He shines in the night,
speaking words of comfort,
his presence, my delight!
Lets live in reverent fear
of Him Who Sees
until we get to Heaven
where all our tears shall cease!

May the love of Christ
fill and control our lives.
To the old way we have died
no longer living for ourselves
but to please Him
who died and rose again
to take us on eagle´s wings
and bring us to Himself!

  1. I wrote this poem when my daughter went through surgery. It was so hard to see her suffer. I guess it is one of the hardest trials: to stand by and see your children suffer. But all went well and she recovered. Prayer and faith in God helped me through.

  2. Life can change from one moment to another.
Here I was sitting in a Hospital by our daughters bedside!
What seemed tummy aches turned out to be apendicitis. She looked fragile...
I remembered the day she was born.
    One always does!
The growing up years are gone in a flash.
And here I was by her side once more wishing I could spare her the pain!
So glad she recovered and is back to normal life again!
